The new healthcare campus integrates a general hospital and a Traditional Chinese Medicine hospital within a unified 200,000 m2 medical complex providing 1,600 beds with a total investment of approximately RMB 1.6 billion (US$237 million). Conceived as a major regional centre for integrated Chinese and Western medicine, the project addresses a significant gap in public healthcare provision while supporting a more balanced distribution of high-quality medical resources. Serving a major city in southern China and the wider region, the campus provides comprehensive, continuous healthcare for a population of more than 10 million, establishing a significant new piece of civic and healthcare infrastructure.
